Food and Friends

Lately, I have been posting a lot of food photos and might have left you wondering if I have already unlocked a new skill level in cooking. Yes, I did cook before but not as complicated as recently, with the joy of having a lot of ingredients now at my disposal. When we moved here in Vancouver, we got lucky to be taken cared of a group of friends who welcomed us very warmly. Even during this pandemic, they always supplied us with groceries, food and whatever they have to share. We are always so grateful to receive these, the reason why I am always cooking since my supplies  keeps popping every week. So when you see another yummy food photo posted, it means that we have received a great deal of potatoes, peppers, eggs, onions and frozen dinners from thoughtful friends. For that, we are always grateful.

literally. em and i will be traveling in May this year to... susi (to snoop out) what's going on the other corners of the globe. as i am a wuss for light travels, i have pointed out the rules for this activity - one back pack only per head :P BUT only for outbound :) inbound - that is a different story considering i already have something in mind to bring back that cannot get away with the liquid restrictions at the airport, so we have to check it in (hello, Speculoos cookie butter!) Rome, Italy

The Grandeur that was. If i could only have a month of vacation leave, i would choose Italy. Italy is one of those places in my fairy tale book where i pictured  La  vita  รจ bella. I imagined myself walking in the cobblestoned narrow alleys going to the mercato to get the freshest italian meat in one hand and a slab of cheese in another, with fresh linguini and a bottle of wine in a woven basket. This time, I was so excited to take a week-long trip to my dream place. But first, Em and I  have to make a stop to the Roma Capitale,  to pay our respects to the greatest city of its time. The streets of Rome itself is a museum. Everywhere you turn your head you can see bits and pieces of history and can just imagine how it was before when all these people in their togas and tunics walk around the city.
