Travel Insurance Woes.

Image
Your Very Tricky Travel Insurance. My blood pressure just shoot up to boiling point after receiving a reply from FWD travel insurance after almost 3 months,  saying they have rejected my claim for the damaged baggage. I am trying to be calm here, but my nose is all flaring up now. Last April upon coming back from Shanghai, I reported a damaged baggage upon arrival and immediately the day after, I reported to Singapore Airlines and FWD Insurance. I am a nerd believer of travel insurance, I feel travelling is a risky business and would always want to have my ass covered especially for this trip since I am travelling with my laptop and other business paraphernalia. At first I was hesitant to report to the airlines and decided to do the claim instead to FWD, but I did both anyway. If SQ would reject my claim then at least I tried, I could say. Right after a few days I got an email from SQ with a proposal to compensate me for the damage. My luggage was not bran...

well, hello!

Happy New Year! I'm ecstatic to start my 2017, just like the other new years. :D It gives me the feeling that I can choose anything I want to do this year! same as last years lol. Of course planning is the easiest part. Executing is well, hmmm. There's this guy named Procastination that's always in front of me. haha. So let's do the easiest ones first. Step 1. REVIEW THE PAST. Check all outdated stuff, old receipts, smelly stuff, molded stuff, OUT. Scan previous blogs, and repost if I still have the heart. LOL. Re-read old planners, organizers, and see what has been done, if it was all worth it and should i do it again? Step 2. CHECK THE PRESENT. This is the part where disorientation is an advantage. Asking these questions would appear healthy. Where am I? errr. Who am I? Crispin? Basilio? What are you to me? haha. How did I arrive here? by bus? by train? by mrt? with wings :) Step 3. GEAR UP FOR THE FUTURE. Take a piece of paper and pen. Ipad ...

Paris, France.

oh Paris. em and I  had to deal a 14-hr flight and a 3-hr stopover  just to get to charles de gaulle's, from the other time zone. but then that's perfectly fine. if only to see your majestic towers in person ...err in its towering height :) i was forewarned that your city is a mischievous one. expensive restaurants, no lifts, small narrow alleys, unpredictable weather, unfriendly locals and even being warned that pickpockets are out there to outwit me anytime. nevertheless, the unpredictability and temporary discomfort of all these things made me realize the beauty you are all about. but then, i've always believed that there are no bad holiday experiences, only the wrong company you are with.  so choose your holiday buddies wisely. *wink* - paris, france 03.sept.2014 - versailles, france 12.sept.2014 sitting where life is. Notre-Dame de Paris and we've done it! :P -  +pontdesart   the birthday boy and the louvre em and mum who...

memory stamp: mt manunggal

Image
roll the films back eighteen years ago. this is mount manunggal in all its glory, standing more than a thousand meters above sea level. it was after my first climb in 1995 when i fell in love with the place, and i did came back year after year -  on a weekend closest to march seventeen, where the annual manunggal climb happens. this event is celebrated by every cebuano mountain climber to commemorate the death anniversary of the late Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay. too bad cameras back then were not as common right now, i could have captured the place in all it's very natural state. most of the climbs were unforgettable, and one of those climbs i shared a peak with my best buds Acel and Ryan with a breath taking view behind, though shivering in the morning fog. i cannot remember anymore the year when i last climbed in march. but i do remember that it was the first time i went without any buddy. i went alone and just followed a small group to the night ascent. w...

around the globe in two weeks

Image
literally. em and i will be traveling in May this year to... susi (to snoop out) what's going on the other corners of the globe. as i am a wuss for light travels, i have pointed out the rules for this activity - one back pack only per head :P BUT only for outbound :) inbound - that is a different story considering i already have something in mind to bring back that cannot get away with the liquid restrictions at the airport, so we have to check it in (hello, Speculoos cookie butter!) OK. itinerary for two weeks follows: SIN-MLA-LAX-MCO-JFK-LHR-SIN tripping counter clockwise the globe and the Outbound packing list as follows: one back pack for each plus one sling bag for camera and video cam  my pack would contain: 1) 3 tops + 1 worn 2) 1 cardigan + 1 jacket worn 3) 1 jeans + 1 leggings + 1 shorts 4) 1 pair pajamas 5) 1 sandals  + 1 worn sneakers 6) underwear (4 pairs) + the worn ones! 7) socks and tights + worn ones! 8...
