Travel Insurance Woes.

Your Very Tricky Travel Insurance. My blood pressure just shoot up to boiling point after receiving a reply from FWD travel insurance after almost 3 months,  saying they have rejected my claim for the damaged baggage. I am trying to be calm here, but my nose is all flaring up now. Last April upon coming back from Shanghai, I reported a damaged baggage upon arrival and immediately the day after, I reported to Singapore Airlines and FWD Insurance. I am a nerd believer of travel insurance, I feel travelling is a risky business and would always want to have my ass covered especially for this trip since I am travelling with my laptop and other business paraphernalia. At first I was hesitant to report to the airlines and decided to do the claim instead to FWD, but I did both anyway. If SQ would reject my claim then at least I tried, I could say. Food and Friends

Lately, I have been posting a lot of food photos and might have left you wondering if I have already unlocked a new skill level in cooking. Yes, I did cook before but not as complicated as recently, with the joy of having a lot of ingredients now at my disposal. When we moved here in Vancouver, we got lucky to be taken cared of a group of friends who welcomed us very warmly. Even during this pandemic, they always supplied us with groceries, food and whatever they have to share. We are always so grateful to receive these, the reason why I am always cooking since my supplies  keeps popping every week. So when you see another yummy food photo posted, it means that we have received a great deal of potatoes, peppers, eggs, onions and frozen dinners from thoughtful friends. For that, we are always grateful.

sin to syd!

2nd Aug 2013 - Friday. after arriving in sydney international airport at 11am, we went down to board the airport train to the city. we also bought 7-day passes and paid almost AUD 50 each. the trip to the hostel is a mere 15min train ride. i was amazed at the double deck type trains in sydney and the train station is not bad at all compared to the dark and eerie new york subway. arrival in Sydney The nearest station to our backpacker hostel is Central, so we alighted and upon exit, the cool Australian breeze greeted us at around 15 degrees C.  Bounce hotel is just a few blocks away, so getting there was not a huge problem. As soon we paid up and took our card keys, we went to the 2nd floor through the card authorized lift which allows you to go to your intended floor using your personal card for security purposes. The room we've booked was good for 6 persons, so we got two more roommates to expect.  we settled down a bit then later headed out to have a late lunch...
